The Enslaved & Enslavers

As the descendant of slaveholders, I feel I have a responsibility to share documents and information I find about the enslaved in my genealogy research.  Some are from my own ancestors; some are from allied families, neighbors, or simply something I've stumbled upon.

I participate in the Beyond Kin Project, The Slave Name Roll Project and, of course, I'm writing about the enslaved and enslavers here on my blog. I welcome comments, questions, and am happy to share information.

    1. I appreciate your comment. I am tangentially related to the Estes family - a discovery I made due to dna matches with the descendants of their former slaves. You may want to take a look at William Daniel and John Nelson posts I've done. I wish you success with your very interesting book. Sue
