About Me

Vanity Projects:  a project, event or even lifestyle choice undertaken to make ourselves happy or fulfill certain emotional needs.

That definition from HuffPost describes this blog very well.  I had toyed with the idea of writing down some of my own stories, in addition to those of my ancestors, for a long time.  Then came the Coronavirus and pandemic.  To keep my fears at bay I needed to do something that pulled me out of the present.  What could be better than stories of the past?

Note:  For more about me please check out In the Beginning which tells how I became fascinated with family history.

    1. Thanks so much for leaving your comment. I'm so glad you've found the information useful! Since you are a descendant of Alexander, then we are cousins. I'm still not sure of the exact connection, but because of dna I know there is one. If you have an account at Ancestry and you give me your user name or email address, I'll send you a link to look at my family tree. It has more information about Alex and his family including my research sources. Again, thank you.

  2. Hello, My name is Dana Muldrow. I am doing family history research with those holding my last name. I am African-American and trying to determine my family's lineage. My great-great-great grandparents Littleton (born about 1831) and Matilda (born about 1838) Muldrow were born in South Carolina more than likely in enslavement. They ended up in Arkansas (Hempstead County) area. I know that some Muldrow slave owners and enslaved people moved or were moved bewteen Muldrow planatations in South Carolina and Arkansas. Is there any chance you have more information from wills or things with the names of those enlsaved? I can be reached at 317-758-8639. Any information would be helpful and greatly appreciated. Thank you.
